Members of the Racine Fire Department Sunday helped officers apprehend two burglary suspects off the roof of a home in the 900 block of Lake Avenue. A third suspect was arrested after being ordered out of the home.

Racine police were called at 1 a.m. Monday to a home under construction for a report of a burglary in progress. When officers arrived, they established a perimeter and ordered any persons inside to come out.

One person responded and was taken into custody without further incident. Because police were aware of additional suspects, they entered the home and searched, including an area where materials were being stored.

After information was received that suspects might be on the roof, police asked RFD to respond with a bucket truck to lift officers to the roof. An additional two suspects were located and arrested.

All three suspects were booked into the Racine County Jail on charges of burglary, criminal trespass and possession of burglary tools.
