Recently, the Caledonia Police Department shared a round-up of their encounters on their Facebook page. The following incidents took place between Feb 22 through March 1. During this week, the Caledonia PD responded to 373 service calls. There were 87 traffic stops. 3 OWIs occurred. There were 15 accidents.

February 22

The Caledonia Police Department wrote that at about 2:10 p.m. they were called to the 3400 block of North Green Bay Road. An “intoxicated subject called to state his regular driver for a rideshare service sounded like she needed help.”

The driver was contacted, stating she was not in need of any assistance, and was surprised to have been contacted. Due to the call, the intoxicated subject was found to have a warrant for open intoxicants in a motor vehicle through the Mount Pleasant Police Department. A Mount Pleasant Police officer arrived on the scene and the individual was able to post his bond to the officer.

February 25

At 1:25 a.m., a motorist called to report an abandoned vehicle, on County Highway H and County Highway G, that had crashed into a guardrail. The caller stated that there were “numerous empty alcohol containers inside.”

The officers found footprints in the snow that led them to the driver of the crashed vehicle. The driver was located about ½ mile away where he was hiding under a tree. The 21-year-old male, who is from Caledonia, was found to have the keys to the abandoned vehicle in his pocket. He was arrested for an OWI-1st offense.

February 27

The Caledonia PD responded to a call at 7:50 p.m. at the Shell Gas Station on the corner of 7 Mile Road and the East Frontage Road. A highly-intoxicated 19-year-old male from Chilton, Wis. had stopped at the gas station with several friends. His friends decided to leave him at the gas station alone, where he then proceeded to undress and was completely naked in the store. He displaced several items in the gas station according to the post.

Additionally, the police department shared, “he caused damage to the fire extinguisher and was obviously disruptive and naked. He was taken into custody without incident, medically cleared, and turned over to jail staff on charges of Criminal Damage to Property, Lewd & Lascivious Behavior and Disorderly Conduct. He was given his clothes back.”
