A man, who gave a ride to a man having car trouble, had his car stolen and police are searching for the suspect, according to officials with the Caledonia Police Department.

A motorist driving a silver 2014 Hyundai Accent at 6:46 p.m. Tuesday, July 21 in the 8900 block of Highway 38 pulled over to help a man walking along the side of the road. The motorist offered to give the man a ride to Racine and the man accepted the offer. But not soon after, the suspect displayed a small gray handgun. The suspect told the man that he wanted his wallet and to get out of the car. After the man complied with the suspect’s request, the suspect took the car and left the area heading southbound on Highway 38.

The license plate on the car is 582WJG.

The black man is described as being between 16 to 20-years-old, 5-foot 4-inches tall, having medium complexion and dreadlocks. He was last seen wearing a white tank top and dark blue jeans with a design on the back pocket.
