The semi-truck involved in the accident was transporting 3 additional cars and rolled over just as they were entering the roundabout. When the large truck tipped onto its side, the cars being hauled came through the top of the truck.

The rollover blocked the southbound entrance and westbound exit. However, The Village of Caledonia Police Department stated on Facebook that as of 10 a.m., the clean-up had been finished and the roundabout was reopened in all directions. It was confirmed by first responders that no fluids from the truck/cars had leaked into the Hoods Creek neighborhood.

Due to the accident, the semi-truck driver was transported to the hospital. The Village of Caledonia Police Department reported that he “was walking after getting out of the truck.”

The Village of Caledonia Police Department publically thanked Floyd’s Towing, Mt. Pleasant Police Officer Mieloszyk, Wisconsin State Patrol, Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, Racine County Highway Department, South Shore, and Caledonia Fire Departments for their assistance.

Additional Reminders

Sargent G. from the Village of Caledonia Police Department would like to remind drivers that stopping to look at an accident and or driving slow to take photos of an accident scene are illegal activities. It is dangerous and unsafe to do so.
