The Great HALO Cake Off
October 24 @ 12:15 PM – 2:15 PM
Check out this sweet fundraiser called the Great HALO Cake Off.
HALO, a homeless shelter, offers intensive case management and a comprehensive network of supportive services.
In celebration of HALO’s 15th anniversary, the Cupcake Drive Up at HALO will be held from 12:15 to 2:15 p.m. Oct. 24. Then the Great HALO Cake Off will be held from 6:15 to 7:30 p.m.
“This honors HALO’s 15th year serving the Racine community as the only general population shelter and also honors our outgoing ED, Gai Lorenzen, who will be retiring. And our outgoing Board President, Jim Henderson, who completes his term on October 1st,” said board member Holly Anderle.
For a minimum donation of $15, people will recieve four cupcakes from O & H Bakery and Malicki’s Piggly Wiggly.
People will decorate the cakes live online from their homes. The voting determines the winner of the 1st Annual HALO Cake-Off Golden Spatula! It will be MC’d by our new HALO ED, Nina Thilleman, and Board Member Joan Roehre.
To join the Zoom event, click on this link at 6:15 p.m.
Understanding that everyone comes to HALO with their own individual story is vital to our ability to help them. HALO Case Managers help individuals experiencing homelessness to overcome barriers, develop goals, and foster human connections for a successful transition from homelessness to independent living.
