Take Our PollIn a 76 -22 vote, the state Assembly voted to rev up the speed limit to 70 mph on some highways, but it’s not a sure bet that the bill will pass in the state Senate, according to a story by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
Under the bill, the Department of Transportation could raise the speed limit from 65 mph to 70 mph, but the Senate rejected a similar law proposed in 2013.
Many of the neighboring states have maximum speed limits of 70 mph as Wisconsin remains the only state between Pennsylvania and Washington that doesn’t have a 70 mph maximum speed limit, according to the story.
