Two people suffered minor injuries early Saturday morning after the car they were in crashed into a home and caused a fire inside the house.

Racine firefighters at 1:46 a.m. Saturday to a home in the 3400 block of Victory Avenue for a report of a driver who lost control of a vehicle that crashed into the front a home and started the house on fire. When crews arrived, they found two people who had been in the car sustained minor injuries.

The accident caused “major fire and structural damage to the home,” according to a press release from RFD Lt. Bedros Ohanian. The residents of the home were asleep at the time of the accident but exited the house without injury.

Estimated damage is $50,000. Attempts to contact the owner of the house were unsuccessful at the time the press release was distributed to media.
