A Milwaukee man chased by police in Mount Pleasant and Racine Monday night was arrested, and charged Tuesday with possession of marijuana.

Adrian Iler

Adrian Iler, 30, is charged with the drug possession, second-degree recklessly endangering safety and fleeing from police. He is in custody on a $2,500 cash bond.

Mount Pleasant police tried to stop the vehicle as it drove east on Washington Avenue near Oakes Road, but it sped away, reaching speeds of more than 80 mph near Emmertsen Road.

Mount Pleasant terminated the pursuit around the intersection with Green Bay Road, due to safety concerns, according to court records.

Racine police heard the chase called out over dispatch, and two officers saw the vehicle blow a red traffic light and followed without activating their emergency lights. The vehicle stopped in the 1400 block of Junction Avenue, and Iler got out of the vehicle.

Iler was ordered to the ground, according to the complaint, but first threw an object over a fence, and then refused to take his hands out of his pockets.

Once Iler was in custody, officers found a mason jar containing 32 baggies of marijuana, weighing 17.5 grams. They also found $1,488 in cash.
