Volunteers and recipients alike Thursday rejoiced together with plenty of Christmas Spirit at the first Christmas Day Brunch at the Hospitality Center.
Rev. Kevin Stewart said there was a bit of a rush when the day started at 8 a.m., but by 10 a.m. people were sticking around to enjoy the fellowship of their neighbors.
In addition to hot food, deserts, breakfast pastries and plenty of coffee, juice and tea, visitors were also given a small bag of toiletries, necessary items that are often hard to come by when individuals fall on hard times.
Of course Santa was an integral member of the team, and even took a seat at the piano to play a few timely tunes like Here Comes Santa Claus and Silent Night.
