The Color Run, the largest 5K event series in the world and ‘the Happiest 5K on the Planet, is bringing its 2017 tour theme, The Color Run Dream Tour, to Racine. Presented by Lay’s, the race will kick off at 9 a.m. Sept. 16 at Pershing Park in Racine, The event serves as the sole The Color Run event in Wisconsin.
This year marks the sixth year in a row of The Color Run being hosted in Racine. While The Color Run Dream Tour, was not originally scheduled to make a stop in Racine, locals demanded the event return so they could continue the years-long tradition of attending with friends and family.
“People here were begging, pleading and crying for The Color Run to come back to Wisconsin,” says Cari Greving, events manager at Real Racine. “The community asked, The Color Run responded, and now the entire state will celebrate!”
The Color Run staff who attended previous events held in Racine were thrilled to coordinate yet another event for 2017. “We’ve always loved Racine,” said Nick Pearson, event director at The Color Run, “and it turns out Racine loves us just as much!” “People come all the way from Green Bay — from all over Wisconsin, really — to come out to this event,” said Greving.
