The Racine Police Department is asking for the public’s help finding the man they say broke into a car Dec. 4 to steal a woman’s purse while the victim was in the car.
Officers say they were called to the parking lot of The Rock Inn, 600 High Street, on Dec. 4 for a call of a robbery. When police arrived, a woman told them she was in her car in the parking lot of the business when a man approached her vehicle. He broke her driver’s side window and pushed the woman back in her seat in order to grab her purse from the passenger seat.
The woman told police the man fled the scene on foot, heading east. The suspect is described as:
- Black male
- 18-22 years old
- Brown eyes and a dark complexion
- Wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, and a black stocking hat
- The suspect may have fled to a waiting grey or silver car
This is an active and ongoing investigation.
