Any residents in Southeast Wisconsin who purchased cucumbers under the Limited Edition label distributed by Andrew & Williamson Fresh Produce of San Diego, CA, are urged to stop eating them.

Affected customers purchased their cucumbers between August 1 and September 3, 2015. They can either throw them away or return them to where they bought the vegetables for a full refund.

These cucumbers were grown outside the U.S., the state Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection said in a written release.

Salmonella is a very serious illness that can be fatal in young kids, the elderly and patients with compromised immune systems. Symptoms include high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea in most healthy people, the alert continues. If anyone notices any of these signs after eating cucumbers, they are encouraged to call their doctor immediately.
