A 41-year-old Cudahy man faces his seventh drunk driving conviction after his arrest Sunday in the Town of Norway.

Andrew E. Clemence is also charged with misdemeanor counts of obstructing an officer, possession of drug paraphernalia and operating a motor vehicle while revoked.

The felony charge carries a maximum fine of $25,000 and 12 years and six months in prison. The three misdemeanors carry a total fine of $13,000 and 22 months in jail.

According to the criminal complaint:

A deputy with the Racine County Sheriff’s Department was traveling south on Highway Y on Sunday when he observed the defendant’s vehicle make a rolling stop, and then pass his squad at 10 miles an hour faster than the posted speed limit. As police attempted to make a traffic stop, Clemence fled but was caught after the officer deployed his Taser.

A portable breath test showed the defendant had a blood alcohol content of .198. Police also found a metal pipe with a small amount of burned marijuana residue under the vehicle’s center console.

Clemence will be back in Racine County Circuit Court April 18 for an 8:30 a.m. preliminary hearing.
