Curt Johnson – local billionaire and one of the heirs to the SC Johnson family fortune – is out of jail.
The Journal Times is reporting that Johnson was released sometime Sunday afternoon, and the only reason given by the Department of Corrections was “sentence served.”
Johnson on June 6 was sentenced to four months in jail and fined $6,000 for touching his step-daughter inappropriately over a period of several years, beginning when the girl was in 6th or 7th grade. He served his time in Kenosha for safety reasons after pleading to misdemeanor charges of 4th degree sexual assault and disorderly conduct.
Johnson was charged in March 2011 with a single felony count of 1st degree repeated sexual assault of the same child after he reportedly admitted to a therapist in Arizona that he had molested his step-daughter.
His trial on the felony charge was scheduled for July, but he instead entered a plea and received the jail term and fine from Racine County Circuit Court Judge Eugene Gasiorkiewicz.
