In a move usually reserved for professional wrestling, a 27-year-old Racine woman is accused of assaulting another woman with a folding chair July 4.

Daneesha L. Shaw faces charged filed by the Racine County District Attorney’s Office with a felony charge of substantial battery.

The felony count carries a fine of $10,000 and six months in prison. Shaw is also charged with a misdemeanor count of disorderly conduct, which carries a fine of $1,000 and 90 days in county jail.

According to the criminal complaint:

Officers with the Racine Police Department responded to a city residence for a report of an assault. They spoke to the victim, who stated that she had gotten into verbal argument with the defendant, who at one point, pushed a plate of food onto her.

As the victim walked toward her car, she said more words were exchanged, and then she was struck on top of her head. She turned around to see the defendant holding a metal folding chair. The woman stated she wasn’t hurt because her hair was in a bun, but she was struck again with the chair, this time in her face.

The woman was taken to the hospital for treatment. The officer reported that he observed abrasions and bruising to her face.

Shaw failed to make a court appearance on Wednesday and a warrant has been issued for her arrest, according to court records.
