UPDATE 9: 45 p.m.

The driver who was shot and killed Friday night has been identified. He is James Norris, 37, of Racine. He was working as a delivery driver for the Steak and Lemonade Restaurant when he was gunned down while making a delivery in the 3900 block of Green Street.

Racine police say Norris was delivering food when he was shot and killed around 11:30 p.m. Friday.

Officers were called to the 3900 block of Green Street for reports of shots fired. When they arrived on scene, they searched the neighborhood and located Norris suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported to Wheaton Franciscan St. Mary’s where he later died.

Scanner chatter reported by The Journal Times indicate Norris was shot in the chest.

Police say the suspect(s) is still at large.
