Dog adoption fees at the Wisconsin Humane Society are half-price Saturday and Sunday to help the organization place 87 dogs in furever homes.
WHS spokesperson Angela Speed said in a press release that adoptions typically slow down when the weather turns for the better, but 87 available dogs is a little unusual.
“Our current dog population isn’t a result of a hoarding or seizure situation, and it’s not unusual to see slows adoptions during the first nice stretch of weather in Wisconsin. But we have a LOT of dogs, and we need the community’s help in getting these lovebugs home,” she said.
The Racine campus is located at 2706 Chicory Road and opens at 2 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday. Call (262) 554-6699.
