When the woman who died Wednesday was attacked in the driveway of her friend’s house, the dog she was bringing home escaped the scene and hasn’t been seen since.
The dog’s name is Cannoli, police say.
Mount Pleasant police say the woman was staying with friends in the village to hide from her estranged husband. She used her friend’s car to pick up the friend’s dog and was just returning to the home when she was attacked.
During the attack, the dog – believed to be a Dachshund – escaped the car and ran away.
If anyone sees the dog, they are encouraged to call Racine County Dispatch at (262) 886-2300.
