Surrounded by her loving family, Donna L. Katt, 85, passed away on Monday at her residence. She was born in St. Paul, Minnesota on September 17, 1932, the daughter of the late Clarence and Doris (Nee: Jackson) Mehlhorn.
Donna with her late husband, Bendt, owned and operated Bendtsen’s Bakery where she excelled in management and cake decorating. An excellent cook, Donna made marvelous fudge. She also enjoyed reading, knitting, gardening, playing cards, shopping, decorating homes, going out to lunch with her friends and family, and wintering in Florida.
She will be dearly missed by her loving husband, Lowell; her children, Connie (Bill) Lyons, Jennifer (Joseph) Tompsett, Bendt Bendtsen Jr. (Cindy); her grandchildren, Ryan Kohel, Sienna (Tom) Moore, Kai (Kate) Slaasted, Janelle (Adam) Tompsett, Jesse (Rebecca) Tompsett, Audra (Dave) Honsberger, Brittany (Brandon) Duvall, Bendt Bendtsen III; nine great-grandchildren; brother, William “Bill” (Katherine) Mehlhorn; sisters, Sally Greeder, Jo (John) Kraft; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Bendt Bendtsen, her grandson, Chad Kohel; and brother-in-law, James Greeder.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Monday at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m.
