Register now and save! The early bird deadline is THIS Wednesday for the Real Racine Skeleton Skamper Half-Marathon, 5k Run/Walk and Kids Trick-or-Treat Walk.
This costumed, timed 5k and half-marathon starts at 8 a.m. Saturday at the Sealed Air Family YMCA, 8501 Campus Dr., Mount Pleasant. The half-marathon registration fee is only $40 until Wednesday and is $50 at packet pick up (2-6 p.m. Friday at the YMCA) or on race day (if available). The 5k run/walk registration fee is just $20 until Wednesday; $25 at packet pick up or on race day (if available) Register at www.skeletonskamper.com
New this year is a $100 cash prize to the top overall male and female half-marathon finishers. Race organizers are also offering a $100 bounty to anyone setting a new Skeleton Skamper half-marathon course record.
Awards will also be presented to the top three male and female finishers in seven different age categories for the half-marathon. In the 5k, awards will be presented to the top three male and female finishers in nine age/ability categories. The three fastest wheelchair competitors in both the 5k and half-marathon will also be honored with awards.
The Sealed Air Family YMCA Kids Trick-or-Treat Walk starts at 9:15 a.m. Strollers and wagons are welcome. ALL children must register at $5 each. There is no charge to adults accompanying a paid child.
Skeleton Skamper’s great post-race party, from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., includes food, beverages, music from “Wheelhouse,” pumpkin painting, games, face painting, a costume contest and more.
