Drivers who regularly travel Durand Avenue between 84th and 92nd Streets should be prepared to take extra time to get where they’re going while work on the water main there is underway.
Crews got to work this week, and the Sturtevant Police Department on its Facebook page posted a reminder so motorists will be more alert for changing lane patterns and no left turn signs.
“Road work has begun along Durand Avenue between 84th Street and 92nd Street. Please be prepared for changing traffic patterns and delays,” the post reads. “Please pay extra attention to the ‘No Left Turn’ signs along Durand Ave.”
Construction is expected to last a few weeks, Village President Steve Jansen confirmed before the water utility turns its attention to a stretch of Durand Avenue west of the train tracks and extending nearly to the intersection with Highway H.
