Hoping to expand the Caledonia Parks and Recreation Department, a golf fundraiser will be held at 11 a.m. June 6 at South Hills Country Club, 3047 U.S. Highway 41.

The money raised will help add shelters, playground and fitness equipment. Plans also include upgrading the baseball/softball diamonds, and expand the recreational programs with summer playground activities and sporting leagues. The Caledonia Parks and Recreation program includes park management at Chapla Park, Crawford Park, Gorney Park, Linwood Park, Nicholson Wildlife Refuge/Park, Maple Park, and Woodland Park.

The golf fundraiser, which will be a shot gun start, will have prizes, raffles, door prizes and a blind auction. The team that finishes with their original team ball will also receive a special gift. The cost is $75 per golfer, which includes 18 holes of golf, cart rental, sandwich and drink at the turn, and a picnic dinner at the end.

A maximum of 144 golfers can participate. To sign-up send or drop-off a check to: Village of Caledonia, 6922 Nicholson Rd., Caledonia, WI 53108. Early registration is preferred. However, day of registration will begin at 10 a.m. The registration form is available on the Village website, www.caledoniawi.com.

Organizers are also seeking donations and door prizes to help support the event. If interested, contact Randall Solberg at (262) 939-1033. The donations are tax deductible.
