A Racine man has been charged burglary and theft, after he was accused of stealing a van, then selling it to Sturtevant Auto Salvage for $100. According to the criminal complaint, Travis A. WIlliams, 25, signed the van over to the salvage business in September. The person who had the van was in the hospital at the time, and when she came home, reported that a case of water, battery cables and oxygen tanks were taken from her apartment without her consent. The van key was kept inside her apartment. The woman’s brother actually owned the van, and he told police that Williams offered him $80 for it, but he did not take the money.
