In just about week, the much-anticipated DSW Shoes will open it’s first Racine-area store.

Slated to open April 16 in the space next to Hobby Lobby in the Regency Point strip center on Highway 31, the store measures about 17,000 square feet and will put 30 new employees to work.

“We’re excited to open the very first DSW store in this area. The whole team is thrilled to be finally welcoming Racine Shoe Lovers to our new store!” said Carrie McDermott, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of DSW in a written release.

Billboards have popped up in various locations in eastern Racine County to get residents ready to shop.

In addition to a wide selection of shoes for both women and men, DSW will also offer a selection of handbags and accessories, according to the DSW website.

DSW is accepting applications. Anyone interested can apply at http://www.dswinc.com/careers.
