Members of the Sturtevant Planning Commission are expected to grant final approval Thursday for a new Dunkin’ Donuts.

The new restaurant will take up where Dairy Queen left off at 9209 Durand Avenue and will be run by The Milwaukee Coffee Brewing Company, the same group who runs a couple dozen Dunkin’ Donuts locations in and around Milwaukee.

“We’ve all missed the Dairy Queen, but I believe Dunkin’ Donuts is a great fit,” Village President Steve Jansen said. “I’d expect them to do extremely well here, and I’m excited to welcome them.”

We left a message asking about when the new store will open and how many employees will be hired. We will update this story when we get that information.

Plan Commission members will also consider conditional use permits for a new Bain Insurance office at 8700 Durand Ave., as well as for an acupuncture and Chinese herbal office at 9133 Chicory Creek.

The Planning Commission meets at 6 p.m. Thursday at Village Hall, 2801 89th Street. Call (262) 886-7200.
