Here are Hibsch’s answers:

Where do you live?

Kenosha

How long have you lived in the community?

Total of 13 years

What is your educational background?

I completed a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology.

What civic organizations do you belong to?

I am currently not a member of any civic organizations.

What position are you running for?

Wisconsin State Assembly – District 64

Have you ever held elected office before?

No

If so, what positions were you elected to?

N/A

In thinking about your election bid, what top three issues need to be addressed? *

Rebooting our economy
Keeping our citizens safe
Providing affordable health/mental health care options for those in need

How would you plan to address those issues?

Rebooting our economy ⏤ We need to allow businesses to reopen safely and resume business as usual. The Covid-19 lockdown has had an enormous impact on our local businesses. Some will not survive. We need to provide resources and low-interest loans to get them back on track.

Keeping our citizens safe ⏤We need to allow law enforcement to do their jobs and bring in additional resources in a timely manner when situations warrant such action.

Providing affordable health/mental health care ⏤ Health insurance costs are out of control due to the high costs of care. To make insurance truly affordable, we need to control costs and have transparency in fees charged by providers.

In reference to those issues you have identified, what would success look like to you?

Quite frankly, we need to get back to our old identity. I want to see businesses thriving and new businesses attracted to what Wisconsin has to offer. I would like to see violent crime under control and instill a sense of security among our citizens. If healthcare costs become more affordable, people will be able to afford other necessities required for living comfortably.

Why are those issues important to you?

All of this issues are core to who we are as a community and are important for our well-being. Addressing these issues will allow us to live comfortably and enjoy the quality of life that we have come to expect in Kenosha, Racine and Wisconsin as a whole.

At the end of your term, what would you like to have accomplished?

By the end of my term, I would like to see all of the above issues addressed satisfactorily and to see Wisconsin as a thriving state economically, where opportunity abounds and we are admired by other states for our innovation and ability to work through obstacles and prosper economically and socially.

Why should people vote for you?

I bring many years of life experience to this position. I represent the hard working people of this community because I live it every day. I have dealt with unemployment and paying for your own health care on the open market. Being self-employed, I know the challenges and struggle with the same things my constituents do on a daily basis. I commit to making myself approachable and will take the time to listen to their needs and respond in a timely manner.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know?

I am committed to serving my constituents to the very best of my ability. My life experience and work experience uniquely qualify me to succeed in this position. Professionally, I have spent many years conducting research in various industries. I have been trained in program evaluation, research methodologies and statistical analysis. Given this background, I will critically evaluate programs the state funds to determine their effectiveness as a prerequisite for future funding.
