The Racine Park Panthers boys 4×200 relay team set another state record Saturday by beating the state record they set Friday in a qualifying race.
The WIAA State Track & Field Championships wrapped up Saturday in La Crosse.
Twins Jeremy and Justin Steward, Jamias James and Vincent Cosey set a new state record when they crossed the finish line with a time of 1:26:84, a story in The Journal Times reads. That time is just .18 seconds faster than the state record the team set Friday of 1:27:02.
Overall, the boys track team finished 10th, with a total score of 19.
Tanesha Davis, a junior from Horlick High School, took bronze in the girls 100 meter final. She told the newspaper that after quitting the track team in her junior year, she got back into running and will treasure her medal.
“I’m not going to put it on my letterman’s jacket,” she said. “It’s too good to throw around. I’m going to leave it on ribbon and hang it in my room,” she is quoted as saying.
