Families are invited to participate in a free family sail night from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Racine Yacht Club, south end of North Beach, 1 Barker Street.
Here’s the city’s Parks and Recreation Department’s full announcement:
PRCS and the Racine Yacht Club have teamed up to offer a FREE Family Sail Night for ages 10 and older on Friday, August 1, from 5-8 p.m. at the south end of North Beach, 1 Barker St.
Family members will receive a safety orientation, basic sailing information and an opportunity to sail on Lake Michigan with experienced sailing crews. All minors must be accompanied by an adult.
Registration will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis at the event or at the PRCS office, 800 Center St, room 127.
Participants are asked to dress appropriately for lake weather and wear soft shoes with non-black soles. Cell phones and valuables may not be brought aboard sailing vessels. Life vests will be provided.
