After buying Everett’s Pub, 9825 Kraut Road, at the end of March, new owner Joey LeGath is remodeling the bar and plans to re-open the tavern as Joey’s West.

LeGath owns three other bars and this one was a prime location. The bar, which is located in Caledonia and Mount Pleasant, means LeGath will receive tax bills from both communities.

“I’ve been going by this bar forever and just loved the location,” he said. “It’s always had a crowd.”

The previous owner, Everette Fitch, died almost a year ago.

LeGath told the Racine County Eye that he plans on serving food, but hasn’t found a cook yet. Until that happens, the bar won’t be serving food. In the meantime, he’s remodeling the bar by painting, putting in new flooring, and replacing the electrical and plumbing.

The bar, which was bought for $250,000, will open Friday, May 13.

“I don’t have a superstitious bone in my body, which is why we’re opening on Friday the 13th,” he said. “But it’ll be a great place for people to come, unwind and have a good time.
