Healthier kids and more awareness about village parks are the primary goals of a free bouncy house day July 11 in Sturtevant.

Village Trustee Carrie Harbach said the event is being organized to promote children playing and getting active while also getting their parents more interested in using and supporting improvements at Sturtevant parks.

“We’re trying to introduce more events that bring the community together,” she added. “We’re also trying to promote healthy living; playing, running, jumping.”

Bounce House Day is aimed at children age 12 and under and will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at North Park, between 94th and 95th Streets and Michigan and Corliss Street. Admission is free.

Backyard Bouncers, LLC, is providing the bounce houses.
