Gifford School renderingWhen the doors open next fall at the new middle school being added on to Gifford Elementary, some children from the Starbuck Middle School attendance area will be able to attend the new school, according to a story by the Racine Journal Times.

The Racine Unified School Board approved the redistricting plan at its meeting on Monday, but district administrators said the Gifford K-8 concept “may end up separating white students at Gifford from their minority peers at Gilmore and Starbuck middle schools,” according to the story.

The new middle school will be on the same campus as Gifford Elementary, 8332 Northwestern Ave. and those attending middle school will come from part of Caledonia and Mount Pleasant.
