A public forum for candidates seeking the office of governor and lieutenant governor will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday in Racine. The event will be held at the Ascension Hospital Health Pavilion auditorium, 3821 Spring St. (Use the entrance marked Health Pavilion, take the elevator down to the auditorium.)
The candidates in the Aug. 14 primary election for both offices have been invited, with the exception of third party candidates who do not appear on the primary ballot. The questions will be prepared by the Racine Political Education Coalition, which is presenting the forum.
Among those invited are governor’s office candidates: Incumbent Republican Scott Walker; Robert Meyer, Sun Prairie, Republican; as well as Democratic candidates Andy Gronik, Fox Point; Matt Flynn, Milwaukee; Tony Evers, Madison; Josh Pade, Milwaukee; Mike McCabe Madison; Mahlon Mitchell, Fitchburg; Kelda Helen Roys; Madison; Paul R. Soglin, Madison; Kathleen Vinehout, Alma; and Dana Wachs, Eau Claire.
The invited lieutenant governor candidates include the incumbent Republican, Rebecca Kleefisch; as well as Republicans Kurt J. Kober, Sheboygan; and Mandela Barnes, Milwaukee.
