A Milwaukee man was arrested in Caledonia Monday for carrying a gun without having a permit.

Jim Rivera, 42, was stopped by police after registration check showed his was suspended.

When an officer with the Caledonia Police Department approached the vehicle, Rivera was wearing, “What appeared to be a police badge around his neck,” according to the complaint.

Rivera told officers he was hired as security personnel for a Milwaukee business. A search showed Rivera had a warrant in West Allis for operating while suspended

Upon questioning, Rivera revealed to police he was carrying a concealed weapon. Police removed from a chest strap holster that was underneath his jacket. He did not have a valid CCW permit, the complaint said.
