Attention Washington Avenue drivers: traffic patterns Monday will switch from outside lanes to inside lanes in the construction zone between Highway H and just east of 90th Street.

Work on intersection improvements – including turn lanes and median reconstruction – began in March. Inside lanes in both directions were closed and traffic was down to the outside lanes.

On Monday, drivers will move to the inside lanes while crews work on the outer lanes. Left and right turn lanes will be open, but won’t be as long.

“Right turn lanes will be available but will not be as long as they normally are.  Please allow for more time as you travel along this corridor, and as always, please drive safely,” state Department of Transportation Engineer Matt Pfeifer said in a short email.

Work is expected to complete by Nov. 15, weather permitting.
