Santa and the Mrs. will make an early appearance during the holiday parade and community Christmas tree lighting ceremony, which kicks off at 5:30 p.m. Nov. 12. The parade will travel down Main and 6th streets. Just after the parade, the Christmas tree on Monument Square will be lit. In an effort to collect letters to Santa, mail carriers from the U.S. Postal Service will walk the parade route. But if you happened to miss them, there will be a special mail box at the downtown post office. Downtown merchants will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
