Police arrested a homeless man Sunday after he pulled a pocket knife on a resident at HALO homeless shelter.

Kevin Alexander told police officers he thought other residents were going to attack him, so he pulled his knife, according to a criminal complaint.

But staff said Alexander became angry when the shelter ran out of food for lunch. Even after other residents offered him a sandwich, he was irate and saying he would fight them. Alexander left in his van and as later picked up by police.

He’s charged with disorderly conduct with use of a dangerous weapon.
