UPDATE: A person has died as a result of being involved in the crash, according to a press release by the Racine County Sheriff’s Department. The name of the person has not been released at this time as the person’s relatives have not been notified. Officials were working on removing the person from the car when she succumbed to her injuries. The semi driver was traveling westbound on Highway 11 and planned to make a left turn onto the northbound on-ramp of Highway 141. The driver of a passenger car crashed into the trailer of the semi. The car then became wedged underneath the trailer. Investigators on the scene do not believe alcohol was a factor in the crash. But it remains under investigation. ORIGINAL STORY: The Racine County Sheriff’s Department is on the scene for a crash involving a car being underneath a semi-tractor trailer, according to preliminary reports. The crash happened at about 9 a.m. Sunday on Interstate 94. The Highway 11 eastbound ramp from the West Frontage Road to the East Frontage Road, and the northbound on and off ramps from Highway 11 to I-94 are closed because of the crash, according to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation. Injuries have been reported. Flight for Life has been called. We’ll update the story with more information when we receive it.
