The Immigration Action Coalition of SE Wisconsin will host an orientation for area immigrants on the qualifications to apply for the Executive Deferment Action announced by President Obama in November of 2014.
Our special guest will be U.S. Congressman Luis Gutierrez of Illinois.
“This is the first largescale orientation event in SE Wisconsin for immigrants to learn how they can qualify for special deferment. We are excited to have Congressman Gutierrez join us in Racine,” says Richard Fierro, event organizer. “We hope all who are interested will join us.”
The event will include a presentation by Milwaukee immigration attorney, Sarah Blackwell. Also in attendance will be financial and legal assistance organizations who will make available information on finances, qualifications and necessary documents to process applications.
The orientation will be held at the George Bray Center, located at 924 Center Street, Racine.
Doors will open at 9am and the program will begin at 10am and end at 12pm.
This bilingual event is free and open to the public. The Immigration Action Coalition is represented by the Immigration Task Force of the Racine Interfaith Coalition, Community for Change, LULAC Councils 320 and 325, and immigration activists from SE Wisconsin.
