The driver of an SUV that crashed through the US Bank in Sturtevant early Sunday morning is okay. The bank, 2953 Wisconsin Street, wasn’t so lucky.

Sturtevant Police Chief Sean Marschke confirmed the accident happened around 6:26 a.m. Sunday. The driver, Marvin Lewis, 39, of Kenosha, was traveling east on Durand Avenue when he lost control as he crossed the railroad tracks in the 9800 block of Highway 11.

He went into a sideways skid for approximately 130 feet and ended up in the side of the US Bank building.

“There were no injuries,” Marschke added. “Mr. Lewis was the only occupant in the vehicle.”

Lewis was cited for going too fast for conditions.

Estimated damages to the bank have not yet been determined, but we did leave a message for US Bank officials. We will update this story after we speak to them.
