Racine County Sheriff’s Department K9 Officer Nox helped deputies Monday keep over 100 grams of illegal drugs – including heroin – off the streets.

Deputies say they initiated a traffic stop on I-94 on a vehicle for unspecified traffic violations. K9 Officer Nox was called to the scene and alerted on the car to the presence of illegal drugs.

According to a press release from RCSD, deputies recovered 43 grams of heroin and 61.6 grams of cocaine with a combined street value of over $6,100. Investigators discovered the drugs were coming from Chicago and headed to Minnesota.

Three men from Minnesota – William Hibbler, 27; Javon Thomas, 37; and Jeremy T. Leatherberry, 24 – were taken into custody and had their initial appearances Tuesday in Racine County Circuit Court.

Hibbler is charged with two felony counts of possession with the intent to deliver. Because he was driving, he also faces three citations – driving without a valid license, lane deviation and following too close. He has a $10,000 cash bond and a preliminary hearing June 18.

Thomas is facing two felony charges of possession with the intent to deliver. He was given a $10,000 cash bond and will have his preliminary hearing June 18.

Leatherberry was charged with two felony counts of possession with the intent to deliver, two felony counts of bail jumping and a misdemeanor county of marijuana possession. He was assigned a $25,000 bail and will next be in court for his preliminary hearing June 18.
