A 28-year-old Illinois man was arrested early Saturday morning after crashing his car into a ditch off of I-94 and trying to run from police.
Racine County Sheriff’s deputies at 5:33 a.m. Saturday were called to a location on I-94 between Highways KR and 11 for a single-car accident. The caller informed dispatch they stopped to see if the driver was okay, and he appeared drunk. Then, they said, he took off toward Apple Holler.
When deputies arrived at the scene, they managed to track the man with K9 Friday. When the man caught site of the dog, he surrendered without further incident.
The driver, of McHenry, IL, was arrested for operating while intoxicated, 1st offense and marijuana possession.
