Racine Police have identified the man responsible for the March 7, robbery of Kewpee Sandwich Shop downtown.

Carl Rogers-Irish, 31, of Racine, was identified after police reviewed the security camera footage, according to a criminal complaint.

The camera’s captured Rogers-Irish entering a rear door at the burger joint on 520 Wisconsin Ave. As he neared the front of the restaurant the alarm went off. He jumped over the front counter, “leaving foot and hand prints,” according to the complaint.

Police did not report if or how much money Rogers-Irish stole.

Rogers-Irish tried leaving out of two doors. First an interior glass door in the north west corner of the building, then after failing to smash the glass, he tried the rear door. Afterward, her returned to the glass door, hitting it until it fell free from the door.

He’s charged with burglary of a building or dwelling and misdemeanor bail jumping.
