Journalism. We believe it should help you live a better life.

That’s why we spend a lot less time on publishing mug shots and a lot more time helping you understand the employment market, figure out how to spend more time with friends and family with our events calendar, and what you can do to help businesses that have opened up. Make no mistake…we aren’t shy. We tackle the big stuff, like COVID and issues around race.

And if you believe in the value of journalism — that it should help, not exploit — please consider becoming a paid member of the Racine County Eye today. We can’t do this work without you.

Labor Day rocked Racine during the annual Labor Fest event at Festival Park.

Run Carolina, Bella Cain and country music star Kip Moore played rowdy, fun and energetic shows Monday to a crowd of around 2,000 as part of the Labor of Love festivities.

This year, the event was sponsored by Case Construction Equipment in support of military veterans, including a silent auction for the Wounded Warriors project and a 50/50 raffle by the Veterans Outreach Center of Wisconsin.

Caledonia resident Randy Bryce was named 2015 Labor Person of the Year, and 6-year-old singing sensation Liamani Segura sang the National Anthem to kick off the event.
