Thom Petersen took these great pictures and the video of the historic Klinkert building at 6th and Park that is being razed because the structure is too damaged from years of neglect to save. Petersen gave us a little history lesson:

Ernest Klinkert had a brewery in Racine and was a businessman who built five buildings in Racine; all of which have this same stone at their peak.  The brewery was on Washington Avenue but has since been torn down, but the office building is still visible from Washington Avenue. The building at 6th and Park was completed around 1920, and the new owners wanted to at least save this piece of our history.
