5Kevents, one of Wisconsin’s top event companies, is officially introducing the Kringle Krush 5K/10K. What was once known as the Chocoholic 5K/10K has gotten a facelift since the original name coincided with Burlington being touted as the Chocolate City. In 1987, Burlington coined this sweet nickname, however, due to recent changes in local industry, the City of Burlington aims to veer away from its confectionery monicker. While the event will still take place, it will now be known as the Kringle Krush 5K/10K.

5Kevents made the name choice as a part of the larger rebranding process, pairing with the changes made by the City of Burlington and the Burlington Jamboree, formally known as Chocolate Fest.

The event company says, “the name change is a strategic move by the company to improve the popularity and familiarity of the event and give it the rebranding and marketing edge it needs to increase in value and popularity.”

Despite the name change, the event will remain a major part of the active culture and tradition of the community of Burlington. The traditions of fun and exciting activities taking place will continue on. However, Burlington residents and visitors can now enjoy the excitement of an event based on a delicious treat which is also Wisconsin’s official pastry, Kringle.

Kringle Krush 5K/10K

The Kringle Krush 5K/10K will take place on Sunday, May 29, 2022, at 10:30 am. Those looking to participate in the walk/run can register online ahead of time. Visit the event’s website to enroll. The Kringle Krush 5K/10K is a professional endurance event that is timed and well-organized, providing runners and walkers with the option of a 5K or 10K. After completing the event, participants are provided a variety of Wisconsin’s famous Kringle. The kringle is made locally in Racine County.

The race will be timed via a chip that is given to participants and results will be available in realtime for those participating. Finishers will receive a variety of medals upon completion of their chosen course, including medals for age recognition. The event will also have door prizes and more. Can’t make it out to Burlington, but still want to participate? 5Kevents offers a remote race option as well. See more details online. Whether you choose to race at the event location or at a trail near your home, taking part in the race is fun and offers an opportunity to meet people and/or challenge yourself in an endurance activity.

Afterward, participants will be invited to join the fun at the Burlington Jamboree. It will start at 1 p.m. or immediately after the awards ceremony following the race. There will be carnival games and rides as well as food and drinks available for purchase.

5Kevent says, “the event’s highlight is the opportunity to taste and enjoy delicious Kringle servings accompanied by malted beverages. Kringle Krush is the only endurance event dedicated to promoting this unique Racine County Danish Kringle. It is worth looking forward to enjoying tasty treats after burning calories in the 5k/10 run/walk.”
