Despite holding the job for less than two years, Racine Area Manufacturing and Commerce president and chief executive officer Jim Ladwig has announced that he will be moving on to become the global community affairs director for SC Johnson, according to a story by the Journal Times.

Ladwig was tapped for the RAMAC job in January 2015 after he served as the Racine County executive. He told the reporter that he’s leaving RAMAC for a better opportunity, not because he didn’t like the RAMAC job. Called the SC Johnson position a “dream come true,” Ladwig will start his new job on Aug. 8.

According to the story:

“The job itself is for the strategic direction and tactical implementation of SC Johnson community affairs efforts globally,” Ladwig said adding he’ll be “working in the communities that SCJ is located in, in order to improve the communities.”

Kelly Semrau told the Journal Times that Ladwig has “a great set of skills.”
