The new playground in the Mount Pleasant Lakeside neighborhood continues to take shape across the street from the Mount Pleasant Police Department’s first COP house. The playground is at the corner of 23rd and Mead Streets.

A $275,000 grant from SC Johnson is making the playground a reality in a neighborhood that has little green space and few areas safe enough for kids to run around.

Originally scheduled to complete earlier this year, the playground will be open for play in a few weeks.
