Blood Drive and Food Drive
Donating Blood
Katt Construction, The Journal Times, Versiti Blood Centers, Recon, Downtown Racine Corporation, Safe & Healthy Food Pantry Project, Beyond Health, and First Weber are partnering for a blood and food drive. Masks are required for this event.
The event will take place at the former Journal Times building located at 212 4th St. from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 24, 2022. Donors are encouraged to register by calling 877-232-4376 or online.
If you donate, you will receive a Noodles & Company coupon. You are also entered to win one of two autographed NFL Jerseys donated by Leroy Butler and Tony Romo.
The day of your donation, be sure to eat a healthy meal beforehand and drink plenty of water. One blood donation can save up to three lives.
Danny’s Meats will provide hot and cold hors d’oeuvres. Katt Construction will provide hats, shirts, and mugs.
Food Drive
In conjunction with the blood drive, there will be a food drive taking place at the event. Those attending are encouraged to bring food to donate. Donations will benefit the Racine County Food Bank.
When donating, it is important to remember the “Food Drive Five” by donating the following items:
- Protein foods: nuts, canned seafood, poultry
- Fruit: packed in juice, dry, and sauced
- Soups: with proteins and vegatables
- Whole-grain: pasta and cerals
- Vegatables: colorful and canned
