Kiwanis International is a service organization with more than 600,000 members in 80 countries that helps kids around the world. The local clubs look out for our communities while the international organization takes on large-scale challenges such as clean water, disease prevention and poverty.

“We are generous with our time. We are creative with our ideas. We are passionate about making a difference. And, we have fun along the way!” says a Kiwanis representative.

Why do you help?

Serving children – around the world and here at home – is the Kiwanis Club of West Racine’s mission. We just celebrated our 45th anniversary of serving the Racine community.

How do you help?

The Kiwanis Club of West Racine is very proud of what they are able to give back to this community. In the 2020 fiscal year, they contributed more than $26,000 to 35 local organizations and programs. The club awarded four scholarships to local high school seniors, donated more than 140 toys to The Salvation Army of Racine’s Christmas Angel program, donated $2,500 to help The Salvation Army purchase gift cards for teens, and purchased iPads for autistic children.

You’ll also see members volunteering all over the place – from driving the courtesy vans at Ascension All Saints Hospital to ringing The Salvation Army kettle drive bells. The club also proudly sponsors the Washington Park High School Key Club and partners with the Cops ‘N Kids Reading Program.

Get involved!

Whether it’s assisting in a classroom, driving a van, helping at a food pantry or setting up the beautiful Kiwanis Holiday of Lights displays at the Racine Zoo each year, there are numerous opportunities to give of your time and talents. Guests are always welcome at meetings, which are at 7:30 a.m. on Wednesdays at Living Faith Lutheran Church, 2915 Wright Ave. To attend a meeting, please contact Membership Chair Mike Mucha at (262) 721-2996 or email him: mikemucha150@gmail.com.
