There are opportunities to bless or be blessed with music at Mount Pleasant Lutheran Church. We have a Senior Choir with around 50 adults of all ages, a Bell Choir that performs about once a month, a John-Paul Buzard pipe organ – a 40 rank instrument with voices ranging from delicate flute to the bold, brassy trumpet – that leads the congregation in worship, and special music opportunities ranging from soloists to brass ensembles and more.
Architecturally and Historically Significant
The church was designed to represent the crown of thorns worn by Jesus Christ during his crucifixion. It includes a dome enclosed in a metal band with outward protruding thorns and a towering metal cross rising skyward.
Part of the church was built underground and it has been expanded with an education center, also built underground with skylights. A narthex foyer is part of the complex and the church’s entrance includes a stained glass wall by church member and artist Cathy Meader.
